Nazmul Hasan Topu
VC University Relations
Md Nazmul Hasan Topu is pursuing his PhD in Electrical Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He is a 4YF PhD fellow at UBC. His current research fields are antenna engineering, wireless communication, and machine learning. He has published several research papers including a book chapter in reputed peer-reviewed journals and conferences. In addition, he delivered several technical presentations in IEEE Vancouver chapter and conference in South Korea.

He served as the elected Secretary of the Graduate Student Association in his department at UBC Vancouver for the 2021-2022 term. Additionally, he is also serving as the Vice-chair (university relations) for Bangladeshi Engineers and Computer Science Professionals of British Columbia, Canada for the 2022-2023 term. He is strongly involved in student-based communities and academic research activities. He founded Scholarship School BD, a research and education platform for Bangladeshi university students who receive training and guidance on scholarship, research and higher studies. He also founded an electromagnetics and antenna engineering YouTube channel called Tensorbundle, which currently has a net international viewership of 2 Million.
Core Responsibilities:

Collaborate with other university departments and leaders, ensuring that university relations strategies align with the broader institutional goals of BECBC.

Work closely with the alumni association to ensure strong ties between alumni and the institution, including developing programs encouraging alumni involvement and support in BECBC.

Oversee or support the organization of major university events that involve external stakeholders, such as commencement ceremonies, or major public lectures.

Lead a team of professionals within the university relations department, providing direction, mentorship, and performance feedback.

Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in university relations, public relations, and stakeholder engagement in BECBC.
