VC Finance
Core Responsibilities:

In consultation with VC Operations and the EC, be responsible for preparing an annual budget, that supports the association’s goals and drives decision-making, as well as regularly monitor and compare the revenues and expenses incurred against such budget.

Oversee the management of all financial affairs of the association including selecting a bank account, reconciling bank statements, managing cash flow, expense reimbursements, recordkeeping etc.

Have thorough knowledge and understanding of the association’s financial reports and important financial records. Keep the association apprised of key financial events, trends, concerns, and assessment of fiscal health.

Prepare an interim Financial report by Oct 31 in preparation for the AGM. Prepare a final Financial Report by January 15 each year to file with BC Registries.

In conjunction with the Chair, Secretary and VC Finance, approve budget for events or workshops which may require funding from the association. Store copies of approval for transparency and record keeping.

In collaboration with the Chair, or the Secretary in his absence or unwillingness, operate bank account and perform transactions.

Notify the bank/s and any other relevant organizations about the List of Directors, amendment to the Constitution and Bylaws etc. in a timely manner.

Be accountable to the EC and general members.
Supporting Role:

Support VC Membership in collection of membership fees. Assist in developing strategies, forming volunteer teams and delegating tasks to collect membership fees.

Support other EC members in preparing and approving a budget for their respective initiatives.

Collaborate with other ECs in supporting their projects as well as furthering the goals of the association in leadership, service and representation.
